| Some of Gauges Kudos |
shorthair pointer is one of the top quality & proven Champion German shorthair pointers in the Nation. Gauge hunts in the bird dog state & national & world tournament hunting circuits and has taken off like a rocket. Every tournament hunter dreams and searches for that extra special german shorthair pointer that has been born with all of the natural qualities, brains, traits and characteristic that make a National Champion dog. A german shorthair pointer that was born to set the bar high. |
Gauge is our 4 year old German Shorthair pointer that is just a phenomenal hunting/family dog. He was born with the great looks, conformation and passion to hunt. Gauge is a big runner in the field with an awesome nose and is easy to control. Gauge uses the wind naturally. Gauge has always had a very mature disposition. He loves people, children and to play. When it comes time to pack the bags for a tournament or the gun is getting cleaned - forget everybody else - his new best friend is the person going hunting. Gauge is one of the Top Pointers in the Nation. Mark has lots of stories to share on how this best friend has never let him down. |
Gauge was born with natural instinct. When we received him at 10 weeks old he was pointing birds. At 3 months old Mark had him at the Big Rock Hunting Preserve and was training him to retrieve quail. (Rooster pheasant's can injure a pup at this age with those spurs.) Another gentleman was training his dog with a rooster pheasant. Gauge caught a glimpse of that rooster and before we knew it and could stop him, he made a mad dash for that rooster, tackled it and with some serious effort drug it back to Mark. From then on we knew he could handle pheasants. This dog has amazed us every time he hunts and Mark has the stories to tell. People would often tell us "You don't realize what you have in that dog of yours ". I think we have a pretty good idea... he gets to sleep in our bed at night :) |
| About Gauge |
We have been blessed with our one in a million dogs. Gauge is a medium built German Shorthair pointer with a mild calm disposition that masks his true passion to hunt and please. Gauge has been competing in the tournament hunting circuit since he was 6 months old. He was considered to be in the puppy category when he won the prestigious Adult Menz Players Championship Title. Competing against the top adult German Shorthair pointers in the Nation. This is just one of the super major tournaments he has won. See website and links for more National titles. Gauge sired his first litter of German Shorthair pointer puppies in May 2005. We were so excited we can hardly stand it. The puppies arrived and went to their new homes. From what we are experiencing this litter was a first class litter and we have puppies proving themselves in tournament hunting, Upland wild bird hunting and companionship. Please contact us if you are interested in owning a legacy of our Gauge dog. Any questions you may have regarding tournament hunting and Gauge. Please do not hesitate to ask, we love to chat. After all, all of our dogs are members of our family. Warm Regards - Mark & Julie |
