| Julie and Mark, Just a quick update for you on Roy. He is awesome. What an absolutely wonderful puppy. We are having so much fun with him, in a very short period of time, he has become part of us. He slept through the night last night! Only a few short whimpers at about 11:30 which was about 10 minutes after I put him in the kennel for the night. He had a fun filled day with us today, plenty of exercise and fun. The boys absolutely adore him. I had to go into work for a meeting and practically ran out of there to get home. I have to admit I am as excited and grateful as the boys. My wife had to work today, but called home three times to check on him (I don’t think she did that with our kids!!). She came home from work, and took him down by the woods to go potty……which he did! She felt great about that. Our 2 year old daughter (who was a bit scared to say the least on the first night) calls to him from the couch and waves at him….she will do great with him. The boys could hardly fall asleep tonight, but Roy is fast asleep here behind me in his kennel with the door open. He has gone potty and poop a few times in the house, which we are working on. He ate well tonight. He is such a good natured pup it’s unbelievable to us. I have attached a few pictures of the boys with Roy. Roy loves to cuddle up to them and rest. It is so cool. We do a lot of active things with him, and then go in for a break, and he want to lay on them or me……awesome. I have been playing fetch with him, and using the “wing on a fishing pole” game, and he responds really, really well. Hard to believe he has only been here for one full day. Again, thanks so much for this. I will try to take better pictures n the future! Todd |
| Hi Julie, Ok, we may be a bit biased at this point…..but he is perfect. I wanted to let you know how great he is doing. No “accidents” in the house yesterday or today, he has his designated area down near the woods where he goes potty and poop, and does it very well. He has slept through the night again for the past two nights with no whimpers or whining at all. No accidents in his kennel either. A close friend of mine came over tonight with his 3 year old female wirehair and they played great. Roy chased her around the yard a ton…..they had a blast together! It was really fun to watch him interact so well. He has also taken daily walks with our neighbors and their two dogs (yellow lab and collie), again, he is a great little socializer! It has also been really neat to watch our 2 year old daughter become increasingly more comfortable with Roy. I think she walked up to him and petted him about 20 times tonight, much more confident….but still a bit reserved. The boys asked if they could sleep down by Roy’s kennel tonight! I thought that was pretty cool. Roy is so good with the kids, it amazes me. Roy is definitely the puppy for us. We would love to purchase him from you and Mark and keep him here! We are sincerely grateful for this opportunity and can assure you this dog will be loved, and treated with great respect. Mark also suggested he was thinking about doing some training this winter, and I would like to hire him to do that, and would like him to keep a spot open in his schedule to train Roy (although I’m sure it will be tough to give him up for a bit!) I also want to let you know that Roy seems very happy here. He eats and drinks well, gets very excited to see us…just all around seems very happy. I have never been so excited for hunting season to start as well. He will have ample opportunity to have field time. I am also an avid bow hunter, and look forward to bringing him up to the hunting land (near the Dells area). I also bring the boys, so I don’t get a lot of woods time, but we have a blast. Roy will be a great addition. Please let me know what paperwork I need to fill out, and what ever else is needed. I will call Mark on his cell tomorrow to get his schedule as well. We are always open to advice and pointers as well, and will definitely keep in touch! Thanks again, Todd |
